This species was NOT on the “Review List” at the time of this sighting but is now listed on the review list due to the recent decline in yearly sightings. 

Cattle Egret — Lower Nazareth Township, Northampton County; April 25, 2007. Photos by Dustin Welch. This breeding-plumaged bird was found by Rick Wiltraut. Once common along the lower Susquehanna River in the 1970’s and 1980’s, Cattle Egrets are now an unusual find anywhere in the state.
