Allen’s Hummingbird — near Lititz, Lancaster County; November 7, 2010. Photo by Scott Weidensaul. This bird began visiting the feeder and flowers in Edith Bailey’s garden at least a week before. It was caught and banded by Scott Weidensaul and Sandy Lockerman on November 7th, who verified that it was an immature male Allen’s. This photo shows the bird in Mrs. Bailey’s hand moments before its release. It represents the 2nd record for Pennsylvania!
