Tullytown
Bucks
DESCRIPTION: The Delaware River near Tullytown attracts a large number of wintering gulls due to the nearby landfill. Although the landfill itself is closed to birders, the gulls conveniently congregate on the river for easy viewing. In addition to the largest concentration of Lesser Black-backed Gull in the country, other regularly occurring gulls (among the thousands of Ring-billed and Herring) include Great Black-backed, Glaucous, and Iceland. Rare gulls like Slaty-backed, Franklin's, Black-headed, California, and Thayer's gull and various hybrids have also been spotted there. It is also the easiest place to get Great Cormorant in the winter.

DIRECTIONS: There are several locations to check. Franklin Cove, Island View Crossing, Riverfront Park and the Boat Ramp in Florence, NJ, Van Sciver Lake Causeway, Pennsbury Manor State Historical Park, River View, Radcliffe Street under the Turnpike Bridge, and Falls Twp Community Park.
