Weiser State Forest Roaring Creek Tract (Roaring Creek Trail, Kline's Reservoir, McWilliams Reservoir, Bear Gap Reservoir)

Return to PSO Home Page

DESCRIPTION: The site is a series of three reservoirs surrounded by woods. Mixed deciduous evergreen. Excellent habitat with many warblers, tanagers, orioles, flycatchers, swallows and other songbirds.
There are 40 miles of trails in this tract and we have only explored the first couple of miles of Roaring Creek trail right along Kline's Reservoir. Warblers and Tanagers were right along the trail. There are small open areas off the trail that are good for sparrows. Waterfowl don't seem to use Kline's reservoir.

DIRECTIONS: Parking lot is well marked off PA 42 about 2 miles north of Aristes (between Numidia and Aristes). Good signage and ample parking.
