Description: Continue as far as you can go down Creek Road past Old Limekiln Road to the gravel parking lot on your right. Walk across the road to the lake edge. This area often has mud areas that have produced shorebirds in the past. Other than the Chapman Road Bridge, this is the best spot, without walking, to see the lake between here and the bridge. When the lake isn't frozen, migrating waterfowl often rest along the far shore in this section. One can also check the wooded lake edge on the far side of the lake for roosting Osprey, Bald Eagle, and Double-crested Cormorant. |
