Description:  If you have time, you can walk down the paved path that starts at the rest rooms and goes to the main Bike & Hike Trail. Then go right to the dam breast. This is a great spot to scan the lake and watch the evening flight of waterfowl and gulls during migration and winter. The near (northwest) corner of the lake at the dam sometimes has a mud edge that has produced shorebirds during migration. From the center of the dam in summer, the breeding Cliff Swallow can be seen under the concrete walkway to the dam control tower.
