DESCRIPTION: This is a nice area since the understory is spicebush which is not a favored food of the over-abundant deer. Thus, this area provides good cover for breeding Wood Thrush and migrating thrushes and warblers that prefer the understory layer. Where this trail crosses the creek at the east end is a good spot to stop and look for woodland breeders and migrants.
