Directions:  A good starting point for a loop field trip is the spillway vista just north of the Moniteau High School on PA 308. Turn right (east) at the sign to a parking area. Bird highlights here include waterfowl, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Belted Kingfisher, and Eastern Bluebird. Check the concrete spillway wall for Northern Rough-winged Swallow nesting in drainage holes, Cliff and Barn swallows nesting under the eaves of the water intake structure and Tree Swallow in nesting boxes along the earthen dam.
