Raccoon Creek State Park
Nichol Road Area

Directions:  Return to your car and proceed to PA 18 and turn right (north), and make an immediate left at the Park Office. Park maps are available here. The park road continues past the office and along Little Traverse Creek for 0.8 miles, when the road comes to a T intersection. Turning right here takes you along a dirt road to an undeveloped section of the park along which there are several trailheads. After 0.6 miles you come to a gate at Nichol Road amidst a primitive camping area. Nichol Road is a multiple use trail that is the access to many of the best hiking trails in the park, but birding opportunities here are not significantly different than elsewhere in the park.
