Description: Freeman Tract Road is a long dirt road (2.75 miles) following the river and ending at the Walpack bend of the Delaware River. Along the way is upland forest to the left and field and scrub habitat on the right. Birds can be found anywhere along this road and the best method for birding is driving slow and looking/listening for birds. Look especially for nesting Hooded and Cerulean warblers, Wild Turkey, American Woodcock along the drive and Spotted Sandpiper and Bald Eagle at the end of the road. Park where the road ends and find the small trail that goes down to the river. |
