DESCRIPTION: The main feature of this park is Chambers Lake, which is good for migrating and wintering waterfowl, but disturbance by fishermen and boaters keep the numbers far lower than the nearby Coatesville Reservoir. But both lakes are worth checking anytime from October to April.
The park also offers a number of trails which are good for migrating passerines |
DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of PA 340 and PA 82, go west on PA 340 for 1.4 miles and turn right on Hatfield Road. Go 0.6 mile and turn left on Wagontown Road. Follow this about a mile to the parking area on the right. Scan the lake from here. Continue west on Wagontown Road and pull off at the left-hand curve to view the upper portion of the lake. There is a gravel bar that gets exposed during low water levels here that can be good for shorebirds.
