Kirkwood Preserve

DESCRIPTION: This 83-acre preserve is primarily grassland with some wet areas and 1.5 acres of upland and riparian woodland. A variety of grassland birds can be observed here, notably American Kestrels and confirmed nesting Eastern Meadowlarks. Vesper Sparrow and Bobolinks have also been spotted in the past. Riparian birds nest along the creek, including Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and Yellow Warbler.

DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of PA 3 and PA 252 in Newtown Square, go west on PA 3 for 2.8 miles and turn right on Providence Road. Go 1.5 miles and turn right on Goshen Road. Go 0.3 mile and turn left on Grubbs Mill Road. Go 0.3 mile to the parking lot on the right.
