DESCRIPTION: Riparian habitat with a macadam path approximately 3/4 mile long. Path follows the creek, but there are a few hills. Woodland edge. Powerline cut. Limited parking. Native passerine birds that live on edge of woodlands. Sparrows and goldfinches in brushy habitat. Woodpeckers in all seasons, as well as hawks. Watch and listen for Great Horned Owls and Eastern Screech owls. Herons, Wood Ducks and Belted Kingfishers are common in the creek.

DIRECTIONS: From I-81 take the PA.581/Carlisle Pike exit. Go less than 2 miles and take the exit for US 11 (Carlisle Pike). At the traffic light, go left. Go 0.45 mile and turn left at the traffic light onto Sporting Hill Road which becomes Good Hope Road. Go 1.2 mile and turn right on Sears Run Drive. Go 0.3 mile to the parking area on the left (at a sharp right bend in the road). Follow a side path down hill to the creek. Look for Brown Thrasher, Veery, and thrushes in season.
