Marquette Lake
Lebanon
DESCRIPTION: Marquette Lake is a sediment lake feed by Indiantown Run creek. The lake is bordered on three sides by a mixed forest and as such makes a safe harbor for a variety of bird life. A one-lane one-way road leading across the dam allows for good viewing. The road enters the forest on the west side of the lake, across a wooden bridge where the water flows out, which leads to a picnic area, then continues back to PA 443. On your drive through the forest you will find a road to the right which may be open. Please do not enter this area. The is for MILITARY USE ONLY!! Marquette Lake is best during spring migration when a variety of water birds can be found. Bald Eagles can be seen sitting in the trees along the east side during winter as part of the lake is open year round. Once you return to route 443 turn right and stop at the pull off on your right. Here, across a cable, you can walk back towards the lake along Indiantown Run creek which is very good for warblers during spring.

DIRECTIONS: From I-81 take exit 85 (PA 934/Fort Indiantow Gap). Go north on PA 934 for less than a mile and turn left on Asher Miner Road (at Funks restaurant). Go 1.1 mile to the stop sign and turn left on to Clement Ave (PA 443). Go 0.1 mile to Lake Road on the right. This is the only entrance to the Lake. At times Lake Road is closed. The drive around the lake is one way with good viewing from the dam as you drive along. The picnic area is good for smaller birds in spring and the drive through the forest is a good place to look for Pileated Woodpeckers.
