DESCRIPTION: A public site with a small trail system among seasonally saturated impoundments and ponds. The area includes wetlands and uplands with great opportunities for shrubland birds.
Shrubland birds abound. Good fall warbler site too. Wetland and marsh birds can be found among the habitat, although open water birds do not regularly visit site due to proximity to Memorial Lake.
Park along Boundary Road and then wind through the trail system. Birding is mainly confined to the shrubs and small trees in the area, although grassland birds are not unusual. Other species may be observed along the utility right of way, although this area is seasonally saturated. |
DIRECTIONS: From I-81, take the Fort Indiantown Gap Exit, 85B. Go 0.5 mile and turn left on Asher Miner Road. Go 0.3 mile and turn left onto Boundary Road. Go 0.8 mile to the site on the right, directly across the street from Memorial Lake State Park's Middle Road Access. Park along Boundary Road.
