| DESCRIPTION: A 15-acre tract of old overgrown apple orchard with trails mowed by landowner who permits birding. The orchard is surrounded by woodland and is excellent for warblers, sparrows, songbirds, owls etc. 151 species have been recorded in or nearby the orchard, including 33 species of warblers. |
DIRECTIONS: Take I-81 to the Scotland Exit (Exit 20). Take PA 696 north 1.3 miles to Coldsmith Road and turn right. Go 1.25 miles to White Church Road and turn left. Go 0.2 miles to Stillhouse Hollow Road and turn right. Go 1.1 mile to Heisey Rd, which is gravel, and turn right. The orchard is on the right along Heisey Road. There is a place to pull off by two bluebird boxes. The trail enters two places forming a U. |
