Moody Ponds (Moody Road)

DESCRIPTION: Two ponds along the side of the road within a large field, across from a housing development. The area is agricultural mixed. A scope is best to get the best views. Good birding for migrant waterfowl such as Snow Goose ( blue phase as well), Ring-necked Duck, Northern Shoveler, American Wigeon, Northern Pintail, scaup, Canada Goose. Cackling Goose and Greater White Fronted Goose have been found. In Spring/Summer you can find Killdeer, American Kestrel, Red-winged Blackbird, Eastern Phoebe, Eastern Kingbird, Indigo Bunting, etc.

DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of US 30, US 22, and PA 60 (west of Pittsburgh), go west on US 30 for 9.5 miles and turn left on Moody Road. Go 0.8 miles to the ponds on the right. You can view both ponds from the road (the ponds are on private property).
