DESCRIPTION: The emphasis at Bowman's Hill is their native plant collection, but where there are plants there are birds. Much of the 100- acre Preserve is mature, deciduous forest with Pidcock Creek running right through it. There is an admission charge for non-members. Check www.bhwp.org for details.
Spring warblers and thrushes are the big draw at the Preserve and viewing is especially good from the Bowman's Hill Tower site accessible by foot from the Preserve and by car from Lurgan Road when the State opens the gate.
Walk any of the many short trails, but trudging up the hill to the Tower area is worth the effort if the Lurgan Road entrance is closed. |
DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of PA 179 and PA 32 in New Hope, go south on PA 32 (River Road) approximately 2.4 miles. Just south of Aquetong Road, turn right off PA 32 into the Preserve and follow the signage.
