DESCRIPTION: This 650-acre site, owned by The Nature Conservancy, features about 100 acres of old growth forest, a swamp, and a pond. The forest is predominantly intact Eastern Hemlock, along with Red Oak, ash, and maples. Birds of interest include an assemblage of northern species such as nesting Blackburnian, Yellow-rumped, Magnolia, and Canada warblers. Otter and Fisher highlight the larger animals on the property.

DIRECTIONS: From the north: Take PA 29 south from Montrose approximately 6.5 miles. Upon entering Dimock Township, continue up the hill. The preserve is on the left. A sign marks the entrance to the parking area. The trailhead is located at the redwood shelter just north of the parking area. From the south: Take PA 29 north. Go 1 mile past the blinking light at Dimock. The preserve is on the right shortly after Woodbourne Road appears on the left. (Do not turn onto Woodbourne Road.) A sign marks the entrance to the parking area. The trailhead is located at the red shelter just north of the parking area.
