It has prime birding habitat with five miles of trails through mature woodland, meadows, and streams where 66 species breed and more than 170 species have been recorded.

DIRECTIONS: From I-476 northbound, exit at Germantown Pike East (#19) and proceed 3.5 miles on Germantown Pike to the traffic light at Northwestern Avenue and turn right. Go 0.2 mile to the stop sign and follow the gravel drive uphill to the center. From I-476 southbound (the NE Extension of the PA Turnpike) merge onto I-276 W via Exit 20 (Norristown-Harrisburg), and take Exit 333 toward Norristown. After the toll-booth bear right to the ramp toward Plymouth Meeting, making a soft right onto Germantown Pike, and follow directions above. To bird the Wissahickon Creek south of Andorra Natural Area, use Forbidden Drive, closed to automobiles, which runs parallel to Wissahickon Creek and is crossed by more than 5 miles of trails. From Andorra Natural Area, you can access Forbidden Drive at the West Bell's Mill Road parking area and bird south to Valley Green Inn, about midway or 2 miles south of the Creek. Or, you could enter the valley at Valley Green Inn on the west side of the Creek. From Henry Avenue turn east on to Wises Mill Road which dead ends at the Inn's parking area. From there you can explore the southern half of the valley without walking the full 5 miles down and back.
