Little Buffalo State Park
Perry
DESCRIPTION: The 88-acre lake attaracts migrant waterfowl and the brushy fields along the North Side Trail at the western end of the park are good for Golden-winged Warbler. The Creek Side Trail and Cross Country Ski Trail are good for riparian species and migrant sparrows. The pine plantations along these trails also harbor both Long-eared and Northern Saw-whet owls in the winter.

DIRECTIONS: From US22/322, take the PA 34 exit and go southwest on PA 34 for 3 miles across the river and through Newport and turn right on SR 4010 (directional sign for the park) and go 1.8 miles to the intersection with New Bloomfield Road. From here, you can turn left and get to the dam breast area to scan the lake or continue straight on SR 4010, which parallels the lake, to scan it from the roadside. In either case, continue on SR 4010 for 1.9 miles to a parking area on the left for access to the trails mentioned above.
