Memorial Lake State Park
Lebanon
DESCRIPTION: Located within the Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, this 230-acre park has an 85-acre lake that is good for waterfowl during migration and gulls in winter. Wintering gulls have included Ring-billed, Herring, Glaucous, Iceland, Thayer's, Great Black-backed, and Lesser Black-backed. Gull viewing is best in late afternoon as the birds are coming in to roost. The park also has fields, hedgerows, and woodlots that produce a nice variety of migrant and breeding passerines.

DIRECTIONS: From I-81, take exit 85B (Fort Indiantown Gap). Go north on PA 934 for about 0.5 mile and turn left (west) on Asher Miner Road (there is a sign for the park here).Go 0.3 mile and turn left (south) on Boundary Road and then immediately left on Memorial Lake Road. Follow this road (one-way) along the south shore of the lake. There are a couple parking areas to stop and walk down to the lake for viewing. The area at about 1 mile provides the best overall view. Continue on Memorial Lake Road to the stop sign, turn right (north), go 0.2 mile and turn right on Boundary Road. The park office is 0.3 mile on the right. Check out each of the boat launching and picnic areas (Lower, Middle, and Upper roads) for more views of the lake.
