Ryerson Station State Park
Greene
DESCRIPTION: This 1,164-acre park was once known for its lake, but problems with the dam have resulted in the lake being emptied in lieu of repairs. However, there is other habitat for rewarding birding. Mixed among the wooded areas are shrubby fields that host edge species such as White-eyed Vireo, Yellow-breasted Chat, and Blue-winged Warbler. The woodlands have Carolina Chickadee. The Lazear, Pine Box, and Iron Bridge trails will give you a good sampling of the park's birdlife.

DIRECTIONS: From PA 21/PA 18 in Rogersville, go west on PA 21 for 13 miles and turn left (south) on Bristoria Road, which leads into the park. Go 0.8 mile and turn right and follow the park road to the parking area at the end where you can access the Lazear Trail. Return to Bristoria Road, turn right, and go one mile to a parking area. From here, you can access the Pine Box trail and Iron Bridge Trail around the "Lake". Also the Deer Trail around the campground is usually pretty good.
