DESCRIPTION: Siegel Marsh's specialty is waterfowl. Developed by the PGC as a 1,343-acre propagation area for Canada Geese, it is visited by birders who hope to spot unusual waterfowl species. Other birds associated with wetlands use the marsh and surroundings as indicated on the checklist, and shorebirds may be found during spring and fall periods of low water. Those species associated with open fields, edges and woodlands may be seen at Siegel no more or less frequently than in any similar habitat in Erie County. |
DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of I-90 and PA 8, take PA 8 south 4.8 miles and turn right on Barton Road. Go 0.7 mile to the entrance to the Visitor Center on the left. Parking areas for access are indicated on the map.
