Distance from bird: About 50-100 yards
Viewing Conditions: Clear
Optics Used: Nikon aculon 10x48, nikon D3300 with 300mm lens
Description: Like a more common flycatcher in behavior and appearance; two white wing bars; flame red underside with more red on head
Behavior: Stayed relatively low over marshland, catching insects from perches and generally returning to same perch
Discussion: Seen by at least 10 people in a single group, the leader initially thought scarlet tanager but eventually agreed vermilion flycatcher was the only possibility.
