Description: Female pale head and neck dark belly large fan shaped tail observed very close overhead long pointed bill intermittent sailing and flapping as it circled overhead..wings and tail held out flat while soaring. 50 % larger than double crested cormorant
Behavior: Sailing and flapping in circle then sailed SE out of sight
Separation from similar species: 50% larger than DC cormorant with fanned tail and buff neck and snakelike neck and long pointed bill
Discussion: Recent tropical storm also brought roseate spoonbills north into PA
