PA Birding Site Guide

There are two versions of this Site Guide — a Statewide Google Map and the other is a County Map.

The Google Map takes you to a Google Map showing over 1100 sites and subsites all across the state. Or you can click on the county below and get a list of sites for that county.

The County Map takes you to a map of the state from which you can click on a county and get a county map with locations shown and other relevant information about birding in that county.

Most of the sites have some sort of description, ranging from “Park here to view the lake” to a detailed list of species and directions.

If it says “Need site description,” then we need a description for that site.

If you frequent any of these sites (especially the “Need site description” ones), please consider writing up a description that we can add to the site.

It doesn’t have to be elaborate (but we welcome that too!), just a brief overview of the birding there (good fall passerine migrant area, good for shorebirds in spring, breeding warblers, etc.) and the best places to bird (a particular view point, trail, etc,).

If you frequent other sites on this map and see that the information is wrong or out-of-date, please send us corrections.

Or if you have a site to add, please let us know.

Any help would be appreciated!

Send additions, corrections, or new sites to pso@pabirds.org

The purple icons (binoculars) are Hawkwatches. All of the other colors do not signify any particular type of site, but related sites and subsites are colored the same. For instance, all of the sites around Lake Ountelaunee are orange.
